TAL to build a new MacMillan Health & Well-being centre at Altnagelvin Area Hospital

TAL has secured the contract to build a new £1.15m Macmillan Cancer Information and Support Centre at Altnagelvin Area Hospital Londonderry.

The new Centre will be located beside Agnes Jones House which will be refurbished as part of the contract and used as a centre for the management of other long term and chronic conditions. The two buildings will be linked by a landscaped garden and walkway.

This project is part of joint plans unveiled by the Western Health and Social Care Trust and Macmillan Cancer Support in 2015 to provide a new Health and Wellbeing Campus at Altnagelvin Area Hospital for patients, carers and their families living with cancer and other long term conditions such as diabetes, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, arthritis and hypertension. Work started on site in February 2016.

We were also recently awarded a contract by the Western Health and Social Care Trust to undertake refurbishment works to provide a Cell Culture Lab in the Ctric Building at Altnagelvin Area Hospital.
